Self-Awareness & Identity

This is me coming home to myself – language, Deaf identity, values, boundaries, strengths I had not fully recognised before. I unlearn old scripts and begin to try out new ones: self-trust, repair, play, belonging. Identity isn’t fixed; it’s a living story I’m still writing. These reflections hold the quiet, steady work of becoming more fully myself.

New reflections are shared fortnightly.

You are welcome to return whenever you feel ready to continue.

Rebuilding identity takes time. It unfolds through reflection, honesty, and small shifts in how we relate to ourselves and others.

These reflections unfold across several themes:

Misunderstood Selves

The space between how others see me and how I experience myself.

These reflections will continue to unfold as I gently come home to myself.

Masks & False Selves

Roles that once protected me but slowly made me smaller.

These reflections will continue to unfold as I gently come home to myself.

Inner Work

Noticing, naming, and staying with truth without turning away.

These reflections will continue to unfold as I gently come home to myself.

Boundaries & Relationships

Learning to care for others without losing myself.

These reflections will continue to unfold as I gently come home to myself.

Identity & Belonging

Language, culture, values – choosing where and with whom I stand.

These reflections will continue to unfold as I gently come home to myself.

Healing & Reclaiming Self

Moving from survival scripts toward self-led choices.

Strengths of Self
