Symbols Carry Stories

Part of the Personal Anchor series – moments that root identity and meaning.

Cartoon-style personal anchor illustration of a rustic metal lantern with a glowing candle inside, drawn in warm golden and brown tones on a textured beige background.

Symbols carry stories. For me, the lantern is a reminder of light that doesn’t go out, even when life feels heavy.

I carry that light so Deaf children can see a brighter path ahead. For my son. For Deaf generations.

That’s why I keep speaking up.

What kind of symbol reminds you to keep your light burning?
