WovenAware aims to:

  • design content that is usable and inclusive

  • centre access and clear communication, shaped by Deaf lived experience

The website aims to align with recognised accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, where reasonably possible.

Accessibility Features

Accessibility is supported through:

  • clear page structure and headings

  • consistent navigation

  • readable fonts and colour contrast

  • descriptive links

  • alternative text for images

  • simple and structured language

  • predictable layout and design

While every effort is made to support accessibility across the website, some areas may still be developing over time.

Communication Formats and Subtitles

WovenAware uses a combination of:

  • reflective written content

  • BSL or signed video in selected areas

  • imagery and visual storytelling

  • structured navigation and accessible layouts

Most WovenAware content is written.

Signed videos are used where guidance, introduction, or personal presence is important. Current signed website videos include English subtitles where appropriate.

Limitations and Third-Party Content

Some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. This may include:

  • older content

  • evolving features

  • third-party integrations

External websites and services are outside WovenAware’s control and may follow different accessibility standards.

Accessibility is reviewed and improved over time.

While every effort is made to support accessibility across the website, some areas may still be developing over time.
