Accessibility Features

This website supports accessibility through:

  • clear page structure and headings

  • consistent navigation

  • readable fonts and colour contrast

  • descriptive links

  • alternative text for images

  • simple and structured language

  • predictable layout and design

Content is designed to be accessible across a range of devices and screen sizes.

British Sign Language (BSL)

WovenAware recognises British Sign Language (BSL) and supports accessible communication for BSL users.

BSL video content is provided across key sections of the Becoming Aware chapters to support access.

Additional BSL content may be introduced over time as the platform grows.

Subtitles

English subtitles are provided on all BSL video content to support access across Deaf and hearing audiences.

This includes:

  • Amplify

  • Deaf Parenting

Micro-Stories are primarily delivered as text-based moments supported by visual imagery.

WovenAware has developed its approach to accessibility over time.

Earlier content shared on social platforms may include BSL videos without English subtitles.

Current website content reflects a more consistent approach, with BSL videos supported by English subtitles as standard, improving access across audiences.
