Welcome to WovenAware
Awareness, experience, and meaning are woven together.
WovenAware is a Deaf-led reflective space exploring Deaf awareness through lived experience, systems, and real moments.
Created by Stephanie Todd, a Deaf creator, this space shares lived experience, systems, and personal awareness.
It explores how systems, communication, and everyday experiences shape identity, belonging, and access for Deaf people and wider communities. Through lived experience, storytelling, and systems awareness, WovenAware creates space for a clearer view of the world around us and of ourselves.
Some of what you find here may feel familiar.
Some may help you see things differently.
Awareness begins with noticing.
Understanding grows through experience.
Change becomes possible when awareness is carried forward.
Whether you are Deaf, hearing or learning, this space is here for you.

WovenAware explores awareness through seeing systems, centring lived experience, and creating space to stay with experience. These layers work together to support meaningful awareness and lasting change.
Why WovenAware Exists
Many barriers are not immediately visible.
They exist in systems, expectations, and everyday interactions.
WovenAware exists to make these realities visible – to challenge assumptions and support more inclusive ways of thinking and communicating.
The aim is not simply to share information, but to create space for awareness that connects, challenges, and grows.
A Deaf-Led Perspective
WovenAware centres Deaf experience, identity, and culture within the UK and beyond.
It recognises that accessibility, communication, and belonging shape how people experience the world. By sharing lived realities and exploring structural barriers, WovenAware supports greater understanding across Deaf and hearing communities.
Accessibility, respect, and reflection guide everything shared here.
