Love Found Its Language Through Our Hands

Part of the Personal Anchor series – moments that root identity and meaning.

Communication isn’t just about sound; it’s about connection, trust, and shared understanding.

This moment with my hearing son reminds me that love doesn’t need to be heard to be felt. Our language lives in our hands, in every shared sign, every smile, every gentle moment of learning from each other.

I’m not only doing this for my Deaf son. I’m speaking up for all my children, for my Deaf son, my hearing sons, for the CODA generation, and for Deaf families everywhere.

Love found its way through our hands, and that’s how I’ll keep showing up.

What does real communication mean to you?
