In some childhoods, responsibility arrives long before emotional readiness does.

 

Growing up too fast is often praised as maturity, without naming what it costs a child.

 

Growing up too fast is not a gift. It’s a cost.

 

No child should have to earn rest through early maturity.

This reflection comes from my perspective as a Deaf parent, shaped by listening to CODA voices and stories over time.
