Some of my favourite memories with my children involve books and stories. In our home, BSL, facial expressions, pictures and conversation are all part of bringing stories to life.

People sometimes question whether Deaf parents can support their children's language development. In our family, BSL has always been part of how we share ideas, express feelings and understand one another.

When people ask how Deaf parents communicate with their children, I think about the everyday moments of connection in our family. Communication has never been limited to hearing words.
