Some of my favourite moments with my children have happened in complete silence.
People sometimes wonder how emotional connection works when a parent is Deaf. I've never thought of closeness as something that depends on sound.
I think of the smiles, hugs, eye contact and small moments we share.
What matters to me is the attention we give one another, the comfort we offer and the trust that grows through everyday family life.
Those moments aren't less meaningful because they're quiet.
Being Deaf has never made me feel less connected to my children.
