For My Son, For Deaf Generations
He was only five weeks old.
I remember looking at him when he wore his first hearing aids.
Such a small moment, but it stayed with me.
Looking at him, I found myself thinking about my own childhood, and all the Deaf people who came before us.
I didn't know exactly what his journey would look like.
I only knew that I wanted him to grow up knowing who he was.
That moment rooted something in me.
Not just as a parent, but as a Deaf person.
For my son.
For Deaf generations.
