The Ordinary Moments Matter Too

Cartoon-style personal anchor illustration of children at a farm. A boy with a cochlear implant gently strokes a brown and white rabbit while his brothers and other children stand nearby.

Sometimes it's the simplest moments that stay with me.

Looking back at this day, I don't remember rushing or worrying about what came next.

I remember watching my children explore, laugh, and become completely absorbed in the world around them.

A rabbit. A farm. An ordinary family day out.

Nothing remarkable. Nothing life-changing.

And yet, these are often the moments I hold onto most.

As a parent, it's easy to focus on the bigger things – the appointments, the decisions, the responsibilities that come with raising children.

But every now and then, a moment reminds me to pause.

To notice what is already here.

To watch my children simply be children.

Looking back, that's what I remember most about this day.

Not what needed doing tomorrow.

Not what was waiting around the corner.

Just a family day, held quietly in time.

Sometimes the ordinary moments matter too.
