I Write My Story

Gentle reflection: This post explores ownership, resilience, and storytelling.

Close-up of an inner forearm with a black-and-grey tattoo showing a heartbeat line flowing into a vintage film reel, with a strip of film curling outward.

There were moments when I felt like I had no control over my own story.

This tattoo holds a heartbeat line, a film reel, and an unwinding strip of film.

For me, it carries the reminder that my life has not always felt neat, safe, or easy to understand. There were chapters I did not choose, and moments I could not control.

But this tattoo reminds me that the story is still mine.

I may not control every scene.

But I can choose how I respond, how I reflect, and how I keep moving forward.

It grounds me when I feel powerless.

It reminds me that I am not only what happened to me.

I am still writing.
