Strength Through Support

Gentle reflection: This post touches on friendship, protection, and strength through support.

Photograph of a black ink tattoo of angel wings on the upper arm in warm vintage style with a subtle sepia overlay. The wings are detailed with fine feather lines, curved upward to form a heart shape.

There were moments when I needed to be carried.

This tattoo holds a pair of wings.

They honour the support that carried me through my youngest son’s birth and the lockdown years – a period that changed my life and my mental health forever.

At times, everything felt overwhelming.

There were days when I was simply trying to get through.

These wings remind me that I was not carrying it all alone.

For me, they represent protection, strength, and the people who helped hold me up when I struggled to stand on my own.

I no longer see them only as a symbol of survival.

I see them as a reminder of support, friendship, and the strength that can exist between people.

This tattoo helps me remember:

Sometimes being carried is part of surviving.
