Love Shone Through Their Laughter

Cartoon-style personal anchor illustration of two young brothers at a winter attraction with a large LEGO-style Santa figure. The older brother stands beside Santa, smiling proudly, while the younger sits in a stroller, laughing with joy.

His excitement was shining brighter than the Christmas lights.

Laughter bubbled from the buggy as little hands reached into the air, taking in every part of the world around him.

Nearby, his brother stood proudly, caught up in the magic of the day.

Looking back now, I don't remember every detail.

I don't remember what happened next or what we did afterwards.

What I remember is the feeling.

The joy.

The laughter.

The way everything seemed to pause for a moment.

Family life is often busy, noisy, and full of things that need doing.

But every now and then, a moment arrives that asks nothing from you except to be present.

This was one of those moments.

That winter, surrounded by Christmas lights, Lego snow, and the people I loved most, I felt our family truly whole.

And when I look back at this photograph, I can still feel a little of that joy.
