My Hero’s Journey | Part 10: The Road Back

Integration

I learned that healing wasn’t a straight line.

It moved in spirals.

Again and again, I found myself returning to places I thought I had already passed.

Old feelings.

Old memories.

Old questions.

At first, I thought returning meant I had gone backwards.

But over time, I began to understand that each return carried something different.

More honesty.

More tenderness.

More peace than before.

The road back was not about becoming who I used to be.

It was about coming home to myself with a clearer sense of who I am now.

Integration arrived quietly.

Not as a final answer.

Not as closure.

But as the moment I stopped needing to keep moving forward in order to feel whole.
