New Roots, Same Soil of Love
We had just moved from Bermuda to the UK.
I was five years old, holding on to my little sister as we stepped into a world that felt completely different from the one we knew.
Everything seemed unfamiliar.
The weather.
The surroundings.
The people.
Even at that age, I knew something had changed.
Looking back now, I realise neither of us understood how much this move would shape our lives.
We couldn't have known about the challenges ahead.
We couldn't have known how many times we would need to find our feet again.
What I remember most is that we faced it together.
Two sisters finding their way through a new chapter.
When I look at photographs like this, I don't only see children.
I see roots being carried across an ocean.
I see family.
I see love.
And I see the beginning of a journey that would shape who I would become.
Because where we come from doesn't disappear when we move.
It travels with us.
It grows with us.
